Answering to a growing demand, the ACT-W (Advancing the Careers of Technical Women) Conference is designed to help professional women network, grow their skills and discover great employers. ACT-W Conferences are packed with engaging programming and attendees participate in groundbreaking sessions, training workshops, networking opportunities, career and community fair and happy hours designed to build leadership, career advancement, and technical skills.

ChickTech is a national nonprofit organization dedicated to retaining women in the technology workforce and increasing the number of women and girls pursuing technology-based careers. We envision a safe, inclusive, and innovative technology future that includes equal pay, participation, and treatment of women.
How are ChickTech and ACT-W connected? ACT-W events and conferences are part of ChickTech’s wide variety of programs and offerings. All proceeds from ACT-W Conferences around the country go towards providing local high school girls with STEM education programs and spreading ChickTech’s reach to create a culture of inclusion for all!
In 2013, ACT-W began as a 3-hour career fair in Portland, OR with 100 attendees.
In 2015, ACT-W grew to a multi-day conference in both Portland and Seattle, covering a variety
of topics that appealed to a broader, growing audience of attendees in all stages of their career.
In 2017, ACT-W was hosted in 7 major cities across America, including New York, Boston, Los Angeles, Austin, San Francisco, and Austin, each with 200-300+ attendees.
2018 marks the culmination and progressive growth of a vibrant community eager to connect, learn, and be heard.
ACT-W conferences run on the energy of our volunteers who care about empowering women and supporters in technology.
